Sending SMS to your User Database

Sending SMS to an individual, or to your entire database, Rosterfy provides the flexibility to engage with your users effectively.

Overview

Sending SMS messages manually from Rosterfy follows a consistent process, regardless of who the SMS messages are intended for.

In this article we will take you through sending SMS messages to your users, either individually, or to your entire database.

For more information on SMS messages in Rosterfy, check out the SMS Overview article.

Note: Rosterfy will limit SMS to 1500 recipients per send. If you need to communicate with more than 1500 users, you can do this by splitting the users into smaller groups. For more information on how to do this, check out Segmenting Users.

Selecting your Audience

To send an SMS from within Rosterfy, simply follow these steps:

In the Admin Console, navigate to Users > Users to access your full user database list. You can choose your audience from here:

  • Entire database: To communicate with your entire database, click Actions > Send Communications To > All Listed Users.

OR

  • Selected User/s: To communicate with one or more select users, locate the User/s you wish to message, either by scrolling the list or by searching in the Search Bar at the top of the list.

Click Actions > Send Communications To > Selected Users Only.

Note: You can search using the User's first name, last name, email address or Rosterfy ID

Sending the SMS

  1. On the Send Communications page choose SMS. This will take you to the Content page where you can either select a template or manually input the details.

  2. Once you are satisfied with the content, click Next to proceed to the Recipients page.

  3. Here, confirm the recipients of the SMS and make any necessary additions or removals before clicking Next.

  4. On the Confirm page, you have the option to either Confirm and Send the SMS immediately or choose to Schedule for Later. If scheduling for later, input the desired date and time before selecting Confirm and Send.

You will receive a confirmation notification that your SMS has been sent or scheduled.

Note: If you have a large number of users, it is strongly recommended that Groups or Filters be used to break down the recipient list. Check out Segmenting Users, for more information.
