Release Notes - 22 September 2026

This article provides an overview of the features / updates the product development team have delivered in the 22nd of September 2026 release.

What's New in Groups and Shift Management🚀

In this release, we’ve updated our Groups and Shift Management features to give administrators and group leaders more seamless, transparent controls. From quicker access to Group Invite Share Links directly within the shift list and shift tab to an upgraded Split Shift modal with automated leader notifications and clear automation previews, these changes make coordinating group shifts and onboarding members faster and more intuitive than ever.

Group Invite Share Links For Administrators

Administrators with group permissions can now access a Group Invite Link action directly from the Shift list. This option is available for upcoming, published Shifts that have been shared with at least one group.

Group Invite Acceptance Now Includes Linked Family Members

When a parent with an existing account accepts a group invite, any linked family members are automatically added to the group. If the invitation includes a specific Shift, family members will be added to that shift as well, provided spots are available.

Invite Volunteers to a Shift in the User Portal

Group Leaders can now find Shift invite links in more areas across the User Portal. A new Invite Others button instantly displays the Shift-specific invite link, allowing leaders to easily invite members and grow their group without navigating away from their current page. These buttons can be found in the following areas of the User Portal:

  • Via the Dashboard: Upcoming Shifts: Click the button next to an upcoming Shift.

  • Via the Dashboard: Groups I am Leading: Click the View button on the group > click the Shifts tab.

  • Via the Shift Calendar: Click the Shift Calendar in left-hand menu > click on the Shift.

  • Via the Event: The Event must currently be accepting applications for Shifts. Click Events in the left-hand menu > click the Apply Now button.

Automated Group Leader Notifications

Admins can now instantly notify group leaders when a Shift is split for their team, eliminating extra follow-up steps. After initiating to split the Shift, a new option is available in the Invitations section of the Split Shift window:

  • Yes, send the Group Leader an email now (unselected by default).

When enabled, an email is immediately dispatched to every group leader using the customisable Group Leader Shift Invitation system template, complete with a shareable invite link they can forward directly to their members.

Split Shift Modal Redesign

The Split Shift modal as pictured above, has been redesigned for improved visual clarity and control. Key inputs are now organised into three logical sections, Shift Details, Group Leaders, and Invitations, with invitation settings updated to a clean set of radio button choices.

Additionally, admins gain full visibility before splitting a Shift: a new See automations expandable drawer displays the exact workflows that will execute when selecting "Run automations for group leaders being added to this new shift."

What's Coming: Events and Shifts 👀

We are rolling out major upgrades to how you create, manage, and maintain your Events and Shifts. These updates focus on preventing accidental data loss, making the Events and Shifts interface cleaner, and introducing smart conflict resolution when multiple admins are working together.

Automatic Drafts and Autosave

Background autosaving continuously captures your progress as you work. If you leave a page before saving, your unsubmitted changes are stored as a draft to prevent accidental data loss.

Collaborative Edit Reviews

When multiple team members make changes to the same draft Event or Shift, you can preview every update in real time and choose whether to accept or reject specific edits before finalising.

Streamlined Field and Setting Controls

Tooltip icons have been replaced with inline help text placed directly underneath each field for quick context. Related configurations are now grouped logically to keep relevant settings together, and checkbox controls have replaced many former dropdowns for faster adjustments

Recommended Next Steps:

To help your team prepare for the upcoming changes, we recommend taking these steps once the update goes live:

  • Update internal processes: Document the new draft review steps in your team's standard operating procedures so all admins follow the same workflow.

  • When the update goes live: Identify your high-collaboration Events and Shifts to establish a clear review workflow for your team.

  • Test the live draft feature once available: Partner with a co-admin on a test draft to practice accepting and rejecting changes together.

  • Establish review protocols: Decide which admins will have final approval to accept or reject edits on shared draft Shifts once the rollout is complete.
