Messaging 💬
We're excited to announce that Messaging is now available directly within Rosterfy, giving your team a faster, simpler way to build engagement and stay connected at no additional cost.
You can now set up group channels and start chatting in seconds to deliver real-time schedule changes, team shout-outs, and program updates that foster a stronger sense of community across your volunteer teams.
To get started, simply head to the Messaging section in your Rosterfy account to create your first channel today. If your organisation requires higher channel and member limits, file sharing, or additional moderation controls, contact your Customer Success manager to learn more about our Messaging Premium paid add-on. See the Messaging - Overview article for more information.
What's Coming: Events and Shifts 👀
We are rolling out major upgrades to how you create, manage, and maintain your Events and Shifts. These updates focus on preventing accidental data loss, making the Events and Shifts interface cleaner, and introducing smart conflict resolution when multiple admins are working together.
Automatic Drafts and Autosave
Background autosaving continuously captures your progress as you work. If you leave a page before saving, your unsubmitted changes are stored as a draft to prevent accidental data loss.
Collaborative Edit Reviews
When multiple team members make changes to the same draft Event or Shift, you can preview every update in real time and choose whether to accept or reject specific edits before finalising.
Streamlined Field and Setting Controls
Tooltip icons have been replaced with inline help text placed directly underneath each field for quick context. Related configurations are now grouped logically to keep relevant settings together, and checkbox controls have replaced many former dropdowns for faster adjustments

To help your team prepare for the upcoming changes, we recommend taking these steps once the update goes live:
Update internal processes: Document the new draft review steps in your team's standard operating procedures so all admins follow the same workflow.
When the update goes live: Identify your high-collaboration Events and Shifts to establish a clear review workflow for your team.
Test the live draft feature once available: Partner with a co-admin on a test draft to practice accepting and rejecting changes together.
Establish review protocols: Decide which admins will have final approval to accept or reject edits on shared draft Shifts once the rollout is complete.
