Copy an Event

Copy an Event to reuse its setup, with options to include its Shifts and copy over specific Users based on their status.

Duplicate an existing Event to replicate an existing structure with the option to additionally copy Shifts within the Event, and copy Users to the new Shifts that have a specific status.

šŸ’”Tip: Events that are cancelled or deleted cannot be copied. Archived Events can be copied.

  1. Click Events > Events.

  2. Click the More Actions menu on the Event you wish to copy.

  3. Click Copy. The Copy window appears:

  4. Click the calendar icon to select the start date for the new Event.

  5. Click the clock icon to select the start time for the new Event.

  6. Click the Copy all Shifts into new Event dropdown menu. Select one of the following options:

    • No: If you do not wish to copy existing Shifts from the source Event > click the Copy button.

    • Yes: If you wish to copy existing Shifts from the source Event to the new Event. The following additional options appear:

  7. Click the Move all Shifts based on new start date dropdown menu. Select one of the following options:

    • No: Shifts are rescheduled based on the new start date of the new Event. They will retain their original calendar dates from the source Event.

    • Yes: Shifts automatically shift forward or backward to match the relative timeline of the new start date for the new Event. For example, if the original Event started on a Monday and a Shift was scheduled for Wednesday two days later, and the new copied Event starts on a Wednesday, that Shift automatically moves to Friday two days later.

  8. Click the Copy Users to the new Shifts dropdown menu. Select one of the following options

    • No: Users from the source Event Shifts are not copied to the new Event > click the Copy button.

    • Yes: Users from the source Event Shifts are copied to the new Event. The following additonal options appear:

  9. Click the Copy Users with status of dropdown menu. Select the statuses of the Users you wish to copy to the new Event. Confirmed and Attended statuses are selected by default.

  10. Click the Copied Users status dropdown menu. Select the status that copied Users inherit in the new Event. No automations are triggered from this action.

  11. Click the Copy button. The following window appears:

  12. Click the Close button. The copy of the Event appears in the Event list with (Copy) at the end of the title:

šŸ’”Tip: Duplicating a copied Event generates an additional label of (Copy) to the Event name as shown above. See the Creating and Updating an Event article for more information on updating the Event name.

šŸ’”Tip: If duplicating a published Event, the new copied Event has an unpublished status.
