Creating a News Article

A news article can be set up in the Communications tab by following these simple steps:

  1. In the admin console, navigate to Communications > News.

  2. Click Create.

  3. Enter the content of the news article:

Title: This will be displayed as the title of your article.

Sub Title: This will be the hyperlink to the article.

Short Description: This will display over the image, when a user hovers over the article.

Content: This is the main body of your article, and can be viewed when a user clicks into the article. The editor allows you to add formatting to your text, along with images, mail merge tags and call to action buttons.

  4. Upload the required images for the news article:

Thumbnail: This will display in the list of articles, when the layout is half-width and on the Rosterfy mobile App.

Wide Thumbnail: This will be displayed against the article in the list of articles, when the layout is full-width.

Banner Image: This image will be displayed at the top of the news article.

  5. Add an article Type if required. Article Types allow you to group your news articles together, for better organisation.

  6. Make your selections on how you want to publish your article to your users:

Publish to Portal Blog: Selecting this will show the article in the volunteer portal, News section.

Publicly Accessible: If this option is selected, a URL link will be generated, allowing admins to share the news articles with users outside of Rosterfy.

Promoted: Selecting this will display the news article on the users dashboard of the volunteer portal.

  7. Once completed, click Save.
