Create a Reminder Automation

Configure automated reminders in Automations.

To setup reminders for incomplete tasks, you can configure an Automation using the Schedule Trigger field.

The following steps are an example workflow to set up an automated reminder for volunteers to complete their profiles in the User Portal. The Action required is to send an email reminder. An email template must be created first. See the Creating an Email Template article for more information.

See the following instructions to create a reminder automation:

  1. Click Workflows > Automations.

  2. Click the Create button. The Create Automation screen appears:

  3. Enter a Name. For this example, enter Post-registration reminder to complete account. This field is required.

  4. Click to select a task from the Tasks field dropdown. For this example, select User - Register. See the Understanding Automation Task Triggers article for more information.

  5. Click the Schedule trigger dropdown. For this example, select After > 2 days. This means the reminder Automation runs two days after the user registers.

  6. Click the Save button. The Rule and Actions options become available.

  7. Click the Add button in the Actions section. The Add Action window appears:

  8. Enter a name for the Action. For this example, enter Send reminder email to complete account.

  9. Click the dropdown to select an Action. For this example, select Email.

  10. Enter the amount of weeks, days, hours or minutes to delay this Action, if desired. For this example, select 2 days.

  11. Click the Options tab. Select the email template created before starting the process.

  12. Click the Submit button.
