Create and Update a Shift Type

Display colour-coded labels on Shifts in the User Portal to categorise Shifts so Volunteers can easily find the right roles.

Shift Types allow you to categorise and highlight specific roles to help clearly differentiate the various Shifts available (e.g., Pre-Event, Evening, or Medical Shifts).


Create a Shift Type

  1. Click Events > Shifts.

  2. Click the Types tab.

  3. Click the Create button. The Create Shift Type screen appears:

  4. Enter a Shift Type name in the Name field.

  5. Enter the Shift Type name in the Name (Portal) field. This name is displayed in the User Portal.

  6. Click the colour block in the Color field to select the label colour.

  7. (Optional) Click the Events tab to enter a minimum and/or maximum Shift length for the type.

  8. Click the Save button. The Shift Type appears as a label in the User Portal on a Shift:


Update a Shift Type

  1. Click Events > Shifts.

  2. Click the Types tab.

  3. Click the More Actions menu on the Shift Type you wish to update.

  4. Click Update. The Update Shift Type Screen appears:

  5. Update the information desired.

  6. Click the Save button.


View the Shifts in a Shift Type

  1. Click Events > Shifts.

  2. Click the Types tab.

  3. Click the View Shifts button. The Shifts List appears with all the Shifts within the selected Shift Type.


Delete a Shift Type

  1. Click Events > Shifts.

  2. Click the Types tab.

  3. Click the More Actions menu on the Shift Type you wish to update.

  4. Click Delete. The following window appears:

  5. Click the Yes button.
